Regional Harvest Festival in Chróścina

Harvest festival is a ceremonial day of the crops, an old Polish ritual organized in order to express gratitude for the field labor and harvest time. Previously celebrated on the first day of autumn, now it is held in August and September, merging religious and folk rituals. This year The Harvest Festival of Góra Commune was organized on the last, hot Sunday of August.

The celebration started with a traditional competition for the most beautiful harvest wreath and a presentation of the results of “Our beautiful and well-maintained Municipality” competition, where Chróścina was named the prettiest village. The judges of the competition also selected the most beautiful rural property, farmhouse, and the best village renewal project

When the official part of the ceremony was over, folk company Wronowianki opened the concert. Next, BIG BAND from the Community Center in Góra appeared on stage followed by Osetnopolanie band and Kola and Jula duo. At 8 p.m., Cabaret PAKA started their performance, which was sponsored by OSI POLAND FOODWORKS. A huge dose of humor put everybody in an excellent. A loud dance party closed the celebrations of the harvest festival.

Meeting local community was an opportunity to establish direct contact with the residents of neighboring towns and villages. HR Department of OSI POLAND FOODWORKS distributed sweet fudge and ball-pens among the participants of the festival. All employees of the plant in Chróścina could take advantage of food and drink vouchers, available at the catering stall.
