On April 8-11th the students of the Complex of Special Schools in Żmigród enjoyed themselves on an instructional nature trip in Szklarska Poręba and in the capital of the Czech Republic-Prague, which was co-funded by OSI POLAND FOODWORKS.
Every day children with their caregivers wandered and admired the beauty of Polish Karkonosze Mountains. Obvious must see places to visit during the trip were two waterfalls: Szklarka and Kamieńczyk. Not surprisingly, they made a huge impression on every participant of the trip. During a sightseeing day trip to Prague the children visited the most important and most beautiful spots of the Czech capital such as Charles Bridge, Prague Castle in Prague’s Hradcany and they strolled along the historic Golden Lane.
Excursions play a very important role in the teaching-educational process. They shape the view of the world, satisfy the cognitive needs of the students, enrich knowledge and skills, facilitate the development of interests and promote spending free time actively. Participation in trips enables sensitivity and emotional intelligence to develop in the minds of children and youth. It also creates an excellent opportunity to integrate and escape everyday school life.
Supporting children and youth is a crucial part of social responsibility we bear on a daily basis. Therefore, we feel delighted to have been able to help the Complex of Special Schools in Żmigród organize the trip. We hope that positive memories will remain with the participants for a long time!
